Master Auto Technician (A-level)

The job

You diagnose and repair every make and model: electrical and drivability problems, check engine lights, brakes, suspension, air conditioning and engine work.

Every job is timed in Tekmetric, and you see your own efficiency number every day. There's an 8-week ramp, then a 75% efficiency standard over a rolling four weeks. Parts waits, approvals and getting pulled for a waiter pause the clock.

Pay

Flat rate, paid weekly by direct deposit:

• $50 for every hour you flag
• Flag over 40 hours in a week and every hour that week pays $52
• Over 45 hours, every hour that week pays $54
• Over 50 hours, every hour that week pays $56

Flag 46 hours and that week pays $2,484. Flag 52 and it pays $2,912.

The guarantee: 40 flagged hours a week, $2,000, from your first week, for good. It's not a trial period that steps down. You always get the higher of the guarantee or what you flagged.

Schedule and paid holidays

Monday to Friday, 8 to 5. Saturday 8 to 2 is optional, never required, and every Saturday hour you flag counts toward your week. No Sundays.

Paid holidays: we close for the major ones and you're paid for them.

What you need

• 5+ years as an A-level technician
• Strong electrical and drivability diagnostics
• A valid driver's license (our insurance requires it for test drives)
• Your own tools and toolbox

ASE certification is preferred, L1 most of all, but you don't need it to apply. If you aren't certified yet, you get certified within 12 months and we pay the exam fees.
