Since 2011, Family Automotive Center has been Port Jefferson Station’s family-owned dealership and full-service repair shop. We sell quality pre-owned vehicles, service every make and model, and treat every customer like a neighbor — because most of them are.
Whether you’re buying your next car, getting it inspected, or finally fixing the noise it’s been making for a month, you talk to the same family every time. We started Family Automotive Center with one simple idea: treat every customer’s car — and every customer — like family. That means honest pricing, straight answers, and patient explanations of what’s actually going on. If we wouldn’t pay for it on our own car, we won’t recommend you pay for it on yours.

Honest first, profitable second
If your car needs a repair, we’ll show you the worn part, explain what it does, and tell you what happens if you wait. If a repair can safely wait six months, we’ll say that too. The shops that survive 14+ years in one town don’t do it by upselling — they do it by being the people you trust to tell you the truth.
Written estimates, every time
You will never get a “we already did the work, here’s the bill” surprise from us. Every job — small or large — is quoted in writing before we touch a wrench. You decide what gets done.
Fix it once, fix it right
Cheaper parts, shortcut repairs, and skipped steps are how shops get a second visit on the same problem. We use OEM or quality-equivalent parts and follow manufacturer service procedures so the repair holds up — and so your warranty does too.
Plain English, no jargon
Codes, components, and diagnostic flowcharts are our job to understand, not yours. We translate everything into “here’s what’s wrong, here’s what it costs, here’s why it matters.” If you have a question, no matter how basic, ask.
