Why A/C systems fail

How much does an A/C recharge cost?

If the system just needs a top-off (no leak), recharges are usually under a couple hundred dollars. If there’s a leak, you’re paying twice — once for the recharge and again for the repair. We always recommend leak diagnosis first if your A/C has been progressively weakening.

Why does my heater blow cold sometimes and hot other times?

Common causes: air in the cooling system, a stuck thermostat, low coolant level, a failing water pump, or a blend door actuator stuck on the cold side. We’ll narrow it down quickly.

What's the smell when I turn on the A/C?

Usually mold or bacteria growing on a wet evaporator core. We can clean it (often resolves the smell completely) and replace your cabin air filter at the same time.

Is it safe to drive with my engine running hot?
